Engine Overview

The LE5 is a classic naturally aspirated gasoline engine from the GM Ecotec series. It is a 2384cc inline four-cylinder passenger car power platform designed for GM mid-size vehicles.

It is built with a lightweight integrated all-aluminum cylinder block and cylinder head, cast iron pressed cylinder liners, replaceable metal gaskets, a reinforced crankshaft and piston/connecting rod assembly, a chain-driven 16-valve DOHC valve train, and an electronic sequential multi-point fuel injection system with ECU. The engine is equipped with Dual VVT for both the intake and exhaust camshafts.
