EK100 series is a classic medium-duty mechanical diesel engine from Hino Japan, featuring a mature six-cylinder OHV platform upgraded from EB300 series. It includes an ultra-thick reinforced cast iron cylinder block & cylinder head, gear-driven 12-valve valve train, forged heavy-duty crankshaft, and purely mechanical inline plunger injection pump with zero electronic sensors and control units.
Two factory official calibrations for different load scenarios:
Full mechanical fuel structure brings extremely low failure rate under high-dust, frequent start-stop and long-hour full-load working conditions. Easy field maintenance without professional electronic repair equipment, widely recognized as reliable aftermarket swap power for second-hand medium commercial vehicles and industrial power equipment across Southeast Asia, Africa, Middle East and Latin America markets.
Replacement fit for medium commercial vehicle & industrial power chassis compatible with EK100 series powerplant. Production year range: 1986–2000
Two core EK100 variants with completely non-interchangeable internal & peripheral accessories:
Two mounting configurations for EK100 series: truck/bus lightweight short bracket version and industrial generator heavy-duty thick reinforced mounting feet version. Cooling fan housing, flywheel housing and clutch housing cannot be directly interchanged.
Critical difference with predecessor EB300 series: Smaller displacement, different cylinder block, crankshaft stroke and mounting layout, fully incompatible chassis swap.
