3SZ-VE 1.5L VVT-i Gasoline Engine Assembly Compact Lightweight Design for Daihatsu Terios Toyota Avanza

The 3SZ-VE belongs to the SZ-series lightweight compact gasoline engine co-developed by Toyota and Daihatsu. It features a thin-wall reinforced cast iron cylinder block combined with a lightweight aluminum alloy cylinder head, twin overhead camshaft 16-valve layout with intake VVT-i variable valve timing system, and silent timing chain design to eliminate regular timing belt replacement costs.

Available in two factory calibrations for different vehicle applications:

• High-power passenger SUV variant: 109HP high compression ratio calibration with stronger mid-range torque and better acceleration for small off-road SUVs and family MPVs
• Low-tune commercial vehicle variant: Detuned 97HP conservative calibration with stable low-speed torque for frequent load carrying and extended service cycle for light vans and mini cargo trucks

Compact overall layout fits narrow engine compartments of mini vehicles, with low vibration and stable fuel consumption performance. Simple electronic control system reduces daily maintenance difficulty, making it widely used as aftermarket replacement power for second-hand compact SUVs, mini passenger vans, and light commercial vehicles across Southeast Asia and China markets.
